2006 PETER DOUGLAS BULGE HOOP CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Matured for 30 months in a combination of 40% new French oak barriques and 60% older oak hogsheads, the wine displays a totally opaque black crimson colour with very deep dark crimson red hue. Perfumed nose with lifted top notes of violets, cassis and dark chocolate followed by some cedar and spice. Full bodied palate flavours of cassis, dark mulberry, cedar and spice with a hint of stalkiness also present. Fine grained, slightly dryish but balanced tannin structure with long aftertaste of blackcurrant, dusty cedar and spice.
