2008 BALNAVES OF COONAWARRA THE TALLY RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON
This Cabernet saw 16 months maturation in French oak. Outstanding opaque black crimson colour with very deep black crimson hue showing excellent depth and colour saturation. The nose displays perfumed aromas of ripe blackcurrant, spice and dark chocolate followed by some cedar and a hint of spearmint. The palate is full bodied boasting excellent concentration and structure. Flavours of ripe blackcurrant, dark chocolate, cedar and spice are framed by a firmish, fine grained, slightly dryish but balanced tannin structure that gives the wine a tight knit mouthfeel. Excellent length with long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
