2007 PIERRE AMADIEU ROMANE MACHOTTE GIGONDAS
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Shiraz this wine is aged in a combination of 2 year old barrels and oak casks for betweem 12-15 months. Very deep dark red crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, spice, raspberry, black cherry and dried meat followed by a hint of earth – quite a complex sniff. Medium weight with a chewy texture, the wine displays flavours of black cherry, inky blackberry and spice. Firm dryish tannins, slightly chalky with aftertaste of black cherry, spice and leather.
