2007 PENFOLDS BIN 389 CABERNET SHIRAZ
Made from a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Shiraz this wine was matured for 12 months in 39% new American oak hogsheads, with the balance in seasoned American oak. Opaque dark red black colour with dark red mauve hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice, mocha and confectionary. The palate is very full bodied and concentrated displaying flavours of ripe blackcurrant, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by some confectionary and spice. Fine grained, slightly dry grippy tannins provide good structure with aftertaste of liquorice, dark chocolate and spice.
